Sweden dominates international business and employment rankings

Sweden heads the Best Countries for Business ranking published by Forbes, and lands sixth in the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) global competitivity index as the country posted a GDP growth of 3.7% in 2016.

The country has a well-performing labour market with high employment rate and high women’s participation. Thanks to a high rate of working women, the country ranks fourth in the WEF Global Gender Gap index. In the past years, the country has reported an increasing share of women among lawmakers, managers and government ministers. Sweden also dominates the RepTrack rankings of the Reputation Institute thanks to its 16-month maternity leave, investment in green housing, safety for women, transparent media and beautiful landscape.
