Vestas receives orders from China Datang to supply 99MW turbines

Danish wind turbine-maker Vestas has received an order for the supply of 99MW turbines from China Datang Corp Renewable Power for its Shandianhe project. The project will be located in the Guyuan County of northern China’s Hebei Province.

For the project, Vestas will supply 45 of its V110-2.2MW turbines. The order also includes an Active Output Management 4000 service and Vestas’ supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system. The supply and commissioning of the wind turbines is expected to start in the last quarter of this year. “The project takes Vestas’ announced order intake in China to almost 600 MW in 2017, which underlines the progress that our customer relationships and wind energy offerings are driving,” Vestas China president Kebao Yang said.  With this order, Vestas’ orders from Datang have now gone up to 900MW. Since entering the Chinese market in 1986, Vestas claims to have installed around 5.2GW of turbines in the country.
