ČNB raises loss 11 times to CZK 412bn

(CIANEWS) - The Czech National Bank (ČNB) closed 2022 with an accounting loss of CZK 411.86bn. In 2021, the economic result was CZK -37.74bn. The largest losses were reported by the items Management of monetary reserves (CZK -207.7bn) and Implementation of monetary policy (CZK -159.6bn). The central bank added that the largest losses stemmed from the fall in the prices of assets invested in foreign markets. The accompanying effect of higher interest rates also had a negative impact on the performance.
