Companies want to invest, they want to keep research and development in the Czech Republic
Prague, September 19, 2023 – Three quarters of companies plan to invest, most often in digitization and robotization. At the same time, over 40 percent of managers assume that these changes will save them only a low percentage of the workforce. More than half of the companies want to recruit new employees This follows from the current AFI Business Environment Survey, which was conducted among Czech companies by the Association for Foreign Investments - AFI.
More than half of the respondents (53 percent) expect that their company will develop towards digitization and robotization. 44 percent of companies plan to advance through the development of new products and processes, and 36 percent plan to invest in building modifications to reduce the energy demand of operations.
"We see a great desire of companies to invest and continue to grow. Almost a quarter of companies also declared their intention to implement artificial intelligence tools. At the same time, we are talking about investments that are to be directed to operations in the territory of the Czech Republic. Companies are interested in maintaining development here, which is definitely good news for the Czech economy," says Kamil Blažek, chairman of AFI.
Roughly a third of the surveyed companies also confirmed their interest in participating in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
