(CIANEWS) - Startup Ageware from incubator Biometric Ventures is coming to market with Ageware, a biometric tool that can check a user's age on the internet by scanning their face. Ageware CEO Victor Nyitray said that currently, mostly so-called age gates are used for age checking, where anyone can click the age of 18 to confirm adulthood, adding that the new biometric technology works on the basis of a buffer of five years, which means that Ageware has to determine the user's age to be at least 23 when checking adulthood. The solution also includes a so-called passive reality detection system, where sunglasses, foreign photos, masks, or other such decoys will not pass through the gate. Ageware is expected to be certified in 2023.
