(CIANEWS) - For years, the Czech Republic has delayed legislative changes concerning energy storage or flexibility aggregation. This is essential for the safe development of renewable energy sources (RES), as confirmed by the EU's plan to reform electricity markets. The Association for Energy Storage AKU-BAT CZ has warned that the Czech Republic faces fines of up to billions of CZK for failing to comply with the European Commission directives. The adoption of an amendment to the Energy Act, the so-called Lex RES II, which is supposed to set rules for energy communities and energy sharing, is also delayed.
