(CIANEWS) - The state budget deficit will reach CZK 320bn in 2023, i.e. roughly 4.4 % of GDP. Jakub Seidler, chief economist of the Czech Banking Association, said this in response to the results of the state economy published by the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic. Raiffeisenbank analyst Vratislav Zámiš agrees that the deficit will be around 4 % of GDP this year. According to him, it could reach just below 3 % in 2024. The National Budget Council expressed that, despite the economic result expected to be better than the amendment, the budget balance continues to show a high structural imbalance of public finances.
