(ČIA) Compared to neighbouring EU countries, Czech operators may get the smallest frequency blocks (no more than 60 MHz) for running high-capacity 5G networks at the announced frequency auction. This information was provided by the Association of Mobile Networks Operators (APMS), adding that the absence of sufficiently broad bands would lead to the quality and capacity of 5G networks in the European-wide harmonised band in the Czech Republic to be the lowest in Europe. People and industrial companies will have a slower 5G connection than in the neighbouring countries and the Czech Republic will start lagging behind technologically. The Association added that the European Commission’s implementing decision 2019/235 clearly stated that the block width of 80 to 100 MHz was of special importance for an efficient introduction of 5G services.
