Czech company LUX-IDent headquartered in Lanškroun, manufacturer of RFID transponders, is to be acquired by Sweden’s Assa Abloy, world’s largest producer of locks and access systems. Already present on the Czech market, Assa Abloy is the owner of the FAB company. The companies announced the transaction in a press release without disclosing the price. “LUX-IDent is a strategic acquisiton for the Assa Abloy group in terms of technology,” said Nico Delvaux, Executive Manager of the Swedish group, adding that the acquisition will extend the current offer of RFID technology products, generate further growth opportunities and strengthen the group’s position in the field of smart components. LUX-IDent was founded in 2002 and has some 145 employees at present. Sales for 2019 are expected to reach CZK 440 million. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2019.
