Autonomous vehicles: Expect up to 50 driverless buses on Oslo streets by 2021

Its recently signed agreement with Danish company Autonomous Mobility involves several pilot schemes and tests of a fleet of up to 50 vehicles. The partners aim to introduce autonomous vehicles gradually and, in the process, learn about customer needs. At the same time, they want to develop demand for new mobility services in the city. The partners have a three-year horizon and they've already started planning specific routes, which will need approval from the authorities. "We see great potential for implementing ambitious pilot projects, where we can test different usage scenarios and develop self-driving operations -- even in more challenging weather conditions than we're used to," Peter Sorgenfrei, Autonomous Mobility CEO, said in a statement. - ZDNet.com -
