Bisnode: No. of bankruptcies up 25% m/m

(ČIA) Totally 3,058 more business entities ceased operations by bankruptcy year-on-year in 2020. The number of bankruptcies thus increased by an average of 25% per month. 94% of the entities terminating their operation were small businesses. 10 large companies are also going through bankruptcy. The number of employees at risk increased by 151% to 18,787. The most affected employees are in Prague, Ostrava and Brno. The largest increase in bankruptcies compared to 2019 is recorded in the districts of Most, Karlovy Vary and Tachov. Prague accounts for 43% of the total number of bankruptcies in the Czech Republic. The increase in bankruptcy filings increased by 16% year-on-year. This stems from the Bisnode Corona Index.
