Bisnode: Record number of self-employers suspend business

(ČIA) A total of 7,767 self-employers suspended their business in the Czech Republic in February 2021. This was 8% down compared with 2020, however, one third more than in 2019 and 70% more than in 2018. A total of 33,300 individuals suspended their business in January and February 2021. This was the highest number in the last four years. The statistics were published by the consulting company Bisnode and Dun & Bradstreet Company. The highest number of suspended businesses was registered for manufacturing, trade and services (2,003), catering (1,852), and retail trade in non-specialised stores (1,826). Relatively the largest increase in suspended businesses was recorded in wholesale trade (+1,169%), in support activities in agriculture (+69%) and in road freight transport (+44%).
