(ČIA) Banks in the Czech Republic are preparing for a law on the repayment moratorium, according to which the debtor will be able to choose between 3 and 6 months of grace from payment. The Chamber of Deputies is scheduled to discuss the law on April 7, 2020. As of April 6, 2020, banking institutions received almost 140,000 requests for deferral of instalments. Most of them requests concern consumer loans (60%), another 30% of applications are for mortgage loans and 10% are for business loans. This stems from the data from the Czech Banking Association (ČBA).
