(ČIA) The chief economists of the banks represented in the forecasting panel of the Czech Banking Association (ČBA) expect the Czech economy to grow by 3.4% in 2021. For 2022, they estimate growth of 4.5%. Most of the risks associated with the weaker-than-expected pace are related to uncertainty about the further development of COVID-19 and its economic impacts, which so far include disruptions in the supply of some components from overseas. Economists predict average unemployment at 4% in 2021, which should then fall to 3.6% in 2022.
