(ČIA) Škoda Transportation and Škoda Vagonka are finalising the installation of five new double-decker push-pull trains for Czech Railways (ČD) in Ostrava. They will be used in the Moravian-Silesian Region (MSK). The trains in the basic set consist of one control and two inserted wagons with a total capacity of up to 356 seats. They will offer passengers e.g. Wi-Fi, an audiovisual information system using LCD monitors and ODIS ticket sales terminals. The trains will be driven by a 750.7 series locomotive from the ČD fleet. The sets’ completion was delayed by the situation affected by the pandemic and the fire in the company that supplies the car floors. The carrier wants to put the first train into trial operation in 2021.
