(CIANEWS) - Construction output in April 2023 fell by 6.4 % in real terms year-on-year. It was 3.4 % lower month-on-month. The Czech Statistical Office reported that building authorities issued 6,387 permits, 10.9 % fewer year-on-year. The indicative value of permitted buildings reached CZK 53.9bn (+14.1 %). 2,685 apartments were started (-24.6 %). The number of completed apartments increased by 40.6 % to 4,264. The average registered number of employees in the construction industry decreased by 1.5 %, the gross monthly nominal wage increased by 7.8 %. According to Eurostat data, construction production in the EU27 fell by 1.2 % in March 2023. The Czech Republic's performance is slightly below the EU average.
