(CIANEWS) - In February 2023, construction production dropped 4.3% year on year and 3.7% month on month in real numbers, according to the information published by the Czech Statistical Office. The drop in production slowed down due to building construction which dropped 1.5% year on year, while civil engineering decreased by 14.4%. Building authorities issued 6,006 permits (down 13.0%). Their approximate value amounted to CZK 41.9bn (up 5.3%). The construction of 3,511 flats (down 4.9%) started. The number of completed flats grew 17.2% to 2,678 units. The average number of employees in the construction sector dropped by 1.7%. Their average gross monthly nominal wage grew by 14.1%. Eurostat data shows construction production rose 1.4% in the EU27 in January 2023.
