Czech foreign debt grows to CZK 4,660bn in 1Q22

(CIANEWS) - The Czech Republic's foreign debt (the sum of maturing liabilities) increased by CZK 193.3bn in 1Q 2022 and amounted to CZK 4,664.8bn at the end of March. It was CZK 350.4bn higher y/y. The deficit of the investment position vis-á-vis foreign countries (the balance of financial assets and liabilities of Czech residents in relation to non-residents) increased by CZK 179.4bn to CZK 1,131.8bn. It was CZK 398.7bn higher compared to a year earlier and represented 18% of GDP at current prices.
