(CIANEWS) - ABB will supply its automation, electrical and digital solutions for the Northern Lights carbon capture project in Norway. The systems will enable remote operation of the new CO2 capture terminal and ensure optimal plant efficiency. The technology will connect the shoreline to the ships and will also serve to power the entire project. The Brno plant will also supply the energy process control system, which will include high- and low-voltage switchgear and transformers. More than 5 million tonnes of CO2 per year are planned to be stored in the project, which is intended for industry across Europe.
