Ecommerce in Denmark to reach EUR 21.45 bln in 2020

Ecommerce in Denmark is expected to be worth EUR 21.45 billion by the end of 2020, Ecommerce News Europe reports, representing an increase of 10%, compared to the status at the end of 2019. In Denmark, the ecommerce turnover was worth EUR 19.5 billion in 2019. However, the growth that is expected to register in 2020 (10%) would be the lowest in many years, Ecommerce News Europe reports. In 2019, the preferred card payment method online was Dankort (62.9%), followed by Visa (15%) and Mastercard (12.5%). After 2020, when it comes to payment methods, the report claims that the e-wallet will be the most popular one, while cards will decrease in popularity. It is expected that bank transfers will gain in popularity as well, just like e-invoice. The study shows that most online shoppers (27%) in Denmark order a few times per month, while 24% do this every month and 18% every third month. In terms of devices used for online shopping in Denmark, the desktop is the most popular one (50%), followed by the smartphone (33%) and the tablet (15%).
