(CIANEWS) - On March 30, 2023, the European Parliament (EP) approved a directive expected to set fairer remuneration for work and limit the wage inequality between men and women. It is the first-ever standard focused directly on the gender pay gap. Pirates’ MEP Markéta Gregorová said the average pay gap in Czechia was 16.4%, which is by 3.4 points more than the EU average. The Czech Pirates Party said the directive must yet be approved by the EU Council. Member states will then have three years to transpose its requirements into national legislation.
