EP supports nuclear and gas as green sources
(CIANEWS) - The European Parliament (EP) has rejected a proposal that rejected the inclusion of nuclear power and natural gas as environmentally sustainable economic activities. In doing so, EP supported the European Commission's proposal that certain gas and nuclear activities should be classified as environmentally sustainable economic activities under certain conditions under the EU's classification system, the so-called taxonomy. If neither the Parliament nor the Council objects to the proposal by July 11, 2022, the delegated act on the taxonomy will enter into force on January 1, 2023 and apply from the same date.
