ERÚ: Gas consumption in CR down 20%, electricity down 3.9%

(ČIANEWS) - The consumption of natural gas in the Czech Republic decreased by 20% and electricity by 3.9% y/y in 2022. According to data from the Energy Regulatory Office (ERÚ), the biggest savings were attributed to businesses with medium consumption. They reduced their consumption by 22.2%, while households saved 20% y/y. The decrease is not only due to the mild winter, but also to rising energy prices, which are leading to a greater effort to use modern technologies that reduce the energy consumption of buildings. One solution is the recovery of waste heat from flue gases.
