Finland one of world’s most innovative countries

Finland improved by one position this year, which means that it has finished no lower than sixth during the past four years of the index. The GII surveyed the innovative qualities of 128 nations around the world across 12 different pillars. Of these, Finland was ranked first worldwide in human capital and research, second in institutions and fourth in business sophistication. Furthermore, when the economic elements that enable innovative activity were assessed in the Input Sub-Index, Finland came fourth worldwide. Overall, Switzerland, Sweden, the UK and the USA took the top four places in this year’s GII. At the other end of the list, Yemen was found to be the most lacking in the innovation department worldwide. (Good News From Finland)
