(CIANEWS) - On July 28, 2022, ČEZ completed the regular shutdown of the Dukovany nuclear power plant (EDU)’s Unit 4. Over the past 54 days, power engineers replaced one-quarter of fuel and checked and modernised a range of equipment. The unit started supplying zero-emissions electricity at night, and operators gradually increased the reactor’s output. All four generation units are thus in operation. Time-wise and technically most demanding work was performed on one of six steam generators during the shutdown. For the first time, technicians tried out so-called laser scanning, which enables them to map the exact situation even in hard-to-access parts of the facility.
