(CIANEWS) - The government has approved a regulation setting out a compensation mechanism for capped energy prices. The cost of compensation depends on the evolution of market prices for electricity and gas as well as on the total energy consumption. This was announced by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, adding that the proven loss and a reasonable profit will be paid to the energy supplier meeting the set conditions by the market operator OTE. The latter will make the payment on the basis of a request from traders. The legitimacy of the demonstrable loss will be checked by the Energy Regulatory Office before payment.
