(ČIA) The government has approved a proposal for tax changes with the proposed effect from 2021. The tax package includes the abolition of meal vouchers and the introduction of a meal voucher flat rate. In the area of taxation of income from bonds, it abolishes the exemption of non-residents' interest income from bonds issued abroad by a taxpayer domiciled in the Czech Republic. The package will also enable self-employed persons and companies to reduce their tax base on income taxes by spending on gratuitous non-monetary benefits intended to combat the coronavirus pandemic in the period from March 1 until May 31, 2020. Local governments will be able to real estate taxes set a local coefficient for individual parts of the municipality. The information was published by the Ministry of Finance.
