Gov’t declares state of emergency as of March 4

(ČIA) The Czech government has decided to declare a state of emergency, which will apply from March 4, 2022. Prime Minister Petr Fiala (ODS) said that the state of emergency will be introduced for purely technical reasons to enable the Czech Republic to cope with the influx of refugees coming from war-torn Ukraine. Therefore, the decision will not affect Czech citizens in any way. Interior Minister Vít Rakušan (STAN) said that the state of emergency will enable the regions to effectively involve all the human and material resources they have and to speed up the refugee registration process.
