(ČIA) UPDATE - On April 24, 2020, the government unanimously requested the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament to extend the state of emergency until May 25. Deputy Prime Minister Jan Hamáček (ČSSD) said that although the regime of restriction of movement is ending, the government still needs instruments to ease other restrictions in a gradual way. On April 26, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) said on Czech Television that he did not yet have the support of MPs to prolong the state of emergency. The Chamber will decide on the government's request on April 28.
