Hamáček and Herrmann agreed to abolish border controls

(ČIA) Interior Minister Jan Hamáček (ČSSD) held talks with Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann. The main topic of this meeting was the rules for easing the border measures. Police President Jan Švejdar also took part in the negotiations on the situation on the Czech-Bavarian border in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic on behalf of the Czech side. Mr Hamáček stated that there is a political consensus that on June 15, 2020 the Czech Republic will completely abolish border controls and at least it would be possible to travel to neighboring countries as before the crisis. Furthermore, Mr Hamáček informed Mr Herrmann that the Czech Republic would partially relax the border regime on the night of May 26, 2020.
