HK: Gov’t program for working foreigners has stalled

(CIANEWS) - In 2023, the Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic (HK ČR) registers requests from companies for 4,474 workers that they have sought abroad. Currently, 2,191 of them are awaiting approval. The reason is the low set quotas of the government program for the accelerated intake of qualified labor from abroad. Workers from India wait up to two years, from Mongolia and Kazakhstan one year and from the Philippines half a year. Applications for workers from Serbia, North Macedonia, Moldova, Armenia or Georgia are processed within three months. The greatest demand from employers is for metal workers and engineering workers, but also for bakers, confectioners, cooks, butchers, seamstresses, cattle handlers, storekeepers and drivers. The number of unfinished orders for companies is thus increasing.
