HK wants EU to involve Czech carriers in DAC testing

(CIANEWS) - The President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic (HK) Vladimír Dlouhý asked the European Commissioner for Transport Adina Valeana to involve Czech carriers in testing the system of automatic coupling of train carriages. Digital Automatic Coupling (DAC) will be the largest European innovation initiative in rail freight transport. It is not yet clear how the EU will fund the DAC programme. Vladimír Dlouhý, President of the Czech Chamber of Commerce, added that the transformation process may lead to losses in the rail transport market, which the higher economic efficiency of rail freight transport with digital automatic coupling is unlikely to compensate.
