J. Hamáček: Wearing respirators in public transport should not be mandatory

(ČIA) The Central Crisis Staff (ÚKŠ) will recommend to the government not to make the wearing of respirators in public transport, long-distance transport or shopping centers mandatory. This was said by the chairman of ÚKŠ and the Minister of the Interior Jan Hamáček (ČSSD). He specified that the staff did not want to order the use of such protective equipment by citizens, but strongly recommended it. He added that it is necessary to decide how to provide respirators to low-income people. According to him, the use of state-issued vouchers is possible, among other things. There are currently 16 million respirators in state supplies. The production capacity in the Czech Republic is 20 million pieces per month.
