J. Síkela: Companies will receive compensation

(CIANEWS) - Industry and Trade Minister Jozef Síkela (STAN) is preparing a compensation programme for companies in the manufacturing industry. Minister Síkela announced this after the government meeting, adding that he plans to present the aid proposal, which should draw up to CZK 28bn from the state budget, to the cabinet in September. Companies with operating losses caused by energy prices should be eligible for support. Compensation should amount to up to 30% of eligible costs for ordinary companies, up to 50% for energy-intensive companies and up to 70% for particularly energy-intensive operations. The maximum amount of aid should be EUR 2 million. The Ministry of Industry and Trade will also declare an emergency in the heating sector from September 5. This will allow heating plants to use fuels other than natural gas and they can already start supplying themselves with coal, light fuel oils and other fuels.
