(CIANEWS) - Compared to 2022, the state of gas reserves in the Czech Republic has increased by 81 %, compared to the average of 2015-2022 it is higher by 45 %. Minister of Industry and Trade Jozef Síkela (STAN) said that warm weather and savings of citizens have an influence on this. In the week from January 2 to 8, 2023, consumption decreased by 36 % compared to the average of the last four years. Since the beginning of October, the Czech Republic has saved more than 650 million cubic meters of gas and is approaching the goal of 800 million. He added that the high level of reserves, warm weather and sufficient supply are also reflected in the markets, where the price of gas ended at 74 euros/MWh on January 9, 2023.
