Jurečka: Tripartite to discuss increase in minimum wage

(CIANEWS) - According to the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Marian Jurečka (KDU-ČSL), a possible increase in the minimum wage is a topic for discussion. In Václav Moravec's Questions on Czech Television, he said that the debate was waiting for the June tripartite meeting, ie representatives of the government, employers and trade unions. The minimum wage has been CZK 1,600 higher since January 2022 and amounts to CZK 16,200. Due to inflation, the Czech-Moravian Confederation of Trade Unions is demanding an increase in the amount for employees with the lowest wage by CZK 2,000 to CZK 18,200. On May 25, government and union representatives will begin discussing the salary increases of officials and other public sector employees.
