Jysk founder Lars Larsen dies at 71

His son, Jacob Brunsborg, had assumed Mr Larsen’s position in the company’s management. Mr Larsen founded Jysk in 1979. Since then, the chain has grown to more than 2,500 stores across 25 countries, with an annual revenue of some $4 billion. The Czech branch of Jysk has reported the best performance ever, with a turnover of CZK 3.3 billion and EBIT of CZK 306 million. The company’s EBIT grew by CZK 306 million, i.e. 12%, in a year-on-year comparison. Jysk opened its first store in the Czech Republic in 2003. Since then, the number of stores has risen to 84 and the number of staff has exceeded 600.
