(CIANEWS) - Kaufland and Lidl have launched a pilot project to buy PET cans and bottles in six stores. Kaufland takes back beverage containers in Michle, Šternberk, and Olomouc-Neředín. Lidl involved its stores in Lhotecká Street in Prague, Folmavská Street in Plzeň, and Trnkova Street in Brno. As part of the international REset Plastic strategy of the German Schwarz Group, of which both chains are part, the company has managed to reduce the amount of plastic by almost 6,000 tonnes over the last four years.
