(ČIA) The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic has submitted for comments the amendment to the act on employment, which also anchors kurzarbeit in the legal order. The ministry wants to introduce systemic support that will be able to respond to all unforeseen events not caused by the employer (economic recession, pandemic, natural disasters, cyberattack, etc.), and which in these cases will enable the preservation of jobs. Partial unemployment benefits are to be provided for up to nine months. They will be determined from the average net earnings of the employee at 70 % for the first three months, 65 % for the next three months and 60 % for the remaining trimester.
