(ČIA) Twenty-two Senators and nine MPs have appealed to the government to exclude the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China from the tender for the completion of the Dukovany nuclear power plant. The legislators stated that they considered the participation of state-owned utility firms from Russia and China a serious threat to the security and sovereignty of the Czech Republic. Both countries have shown on multiple occasions that due to the totalitarian character of their regimes they did not hesitate to use business relations to put pressure on other countries. Therefore, according to them, one cannot pretend that these two powers could be a reliable business partner.
