Lego creates 500 new jobs in Kladno
Danish toymaker Lego has invested CZK 1.7 billion in extending the production capacity of its Kladno plant in the past few years, creating some 500 new jobs. The company struck a deal with the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade in mid-June, securing an investment incentive of CZK 50 million. “The company continuously innovates its production processes and invests in research and development of new technologies, testing them in its Kladno plant and implementing them across the group,” the Ministry said. The Kladno plant has a staff of more than 2,500, with some 1,000 temporary workers being hired for the Christmas season. Besides Kladno, Lego has manufacturing plants in Denmark, Hungary, Mexico and China. The corporation posted sales of DKK 37.9 billion in 2016, up by 6% compared to the previous year.
