The former designer was responsible for developing the famous Lego minifigures in 1970s. "His imagination was so fantastic. If we had a brainstorm it was more like a brain hurricane, because he had so many ideas," former Lego designer Milan Pedersen told AFP. Jens Nygaard Knudsen worked at Lego from 1968 to 2000 and his gender- and race-neutral minifigure was put on market in 1978. Founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen, the Lego company had more than 17,000 employees at the end of 2018. It switched to plastic from wood and put its famous toy bricks on market in 1958.
