(CIANEWS) - The absolute amount of the government debt at the end of 2022 reached CZK 2.89tn, up CZK 429.1bn y/y. This is mainly due to the coverage of the budget deficit of CZK 360.4bn and the operational preventive strengthening of available liquidity in the state treasury's CZK and euro general account, including to enable the provision of loans to energy producers. The Czech Republic, through the Ministry of Finance (MF), sold CZK 431.3bn worth of medium- and long-term koruna bonds on the primary and secondary markets.
