(CIANEWS) - The deficit of the state budget in December 2022 decreased by CZK 59.3bn y/y and was CZK 14.6bn lower than the planned amount. After adjusting for income from the European Union and financial mechanisms, as well as expenses for these projects, the deficit amounted to CZK 316.1bn. It thus decreased year-on-year by CZK 92.5bn. The data was published by the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic (MF). Compared to the amendment to the Act on the State Budget with a deficit of CZK 375bn, lower expenditures by CZK 68.4bn contributed to the better performance, which outweighed lower income by CZK 14.6bn. The original budget deficit totalled CZK 280bn.
