(ČIA) Green electricity producers will be able to operate their subsidized renewable energy sources for five years longer for a total of 20 years. The Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic (MH SR) informed about it, stating that it is coming to the government with an amendment to the Act on the Support of Renewable Energy Sources and Combined Power Generation, which introduces so-called repowering. According to the amendment, it will affect over 440 renewable sources, primarily large solar power plants. Thanks to the extension of the support, 60 to 70 million euros should be saved annually on the tariff for the operation of the system, which is paid by all electricity customers in their invoices.
