(CIANEWS) - The Ministry for Regional Development of the Czech Republic (MMR) has launched the Rental Housing Programme as part of the Housing for Life project. The State Fund for Investment Support (SFPI) has prepared CZK 800m for the construction of rental flats. The larger part, CZK 500m, is reserved for municipalities. By 2025, a total of CZK 3bn will come from the fund for the construction of flats. The ministry said it is negotiating another CZK 8bn from the National Recovery Plan with the European Commission these weeks. Regional Development Minister Ivan Bartoš said that the ambition is to send up to CZK 20bn into affordable housing in the coming years in a controlled manner. The concept could support up to 2 million people.
