MPO: Nuclear energy, RES and digitalisation are priority

(ČIA) The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MPO) will prepare before the end of 2023 an update of the State Energy Concept of the Czech Republic with regard to the EU climate and energy targets. A new energy law should be ready by the end of 2022. According to Minister of Industry and Trade Jozef Sikela (for STAN), the priority is to support the development of nuclear energy and renewable energy sources (RES). The transition to a sustainable and digital economy is essential. The government's programme declaration also envisages the rehabilitation of photovoltaics. At least 100,000 photovoltaic roofs should be installed in the Czech Republic by 2025. The ministry also plans to simplify business and subsidy programmes. It will develop a new export promotion strategy by the end of 2022.
