(CIANEWS) - In addition to the state purchase of approximately 240 million m3 of gas, the Czech Republic has secured influence on another 435 million m3 through auctions. This was announced by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MPO). By the end of June 2022, 20 auctions were held for gas storage, to which the state contributed 181 million m3 of gas. Minister Jozef Síkela (for STAN) said that there is currently more than 2.5 billion m3 of gas in domestic storage facilities, which represents about three-quarters of their capacity. Barring unforeseen circumstances, he said, the reservoirs will be 80% full by November 1. The storage capacity filling rate is among the highest in Europe.
