NERV proposes government to increase taxes

(CIANEWS) - The National Economic Council of the Government (NERV) has prepared a proposal for measures to reduce the state budget deficit for the government cabinet. It is a list of 16 points to increase revenue and 12 to reduce expenditure. On the revenue side, the NERV recommends, for example, an increase in taxes for individuals, a revision of reduced VAT bands, and an increase in property taxes, while in the social area it recommends charging universities, a period of grace in case of illness and abolishing school fees. On the expenditure side, it proposes, among other things, abolishing state support for building savings, reducing unemployment benefits, reducing non-investment subsidies in agriculture, and reducing the number of police officers and prisoners.
