AGILAWYER SOCIETY APPOINTS NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR

Kateryna Balaban was appointed Managing Director of Agilawyer Society for the Czech Republic. In her new role, Ms. Balaban will oversee management and development of the company, enhancing the overall strength of the team, while continuing to lead a new international project called UA.SUPPORT.

AgiLawyer Society is a Czech non-governmental organization focusing on non-profit projects and education. In response to the situation in Ukraine, AgiLawyer Society, in cooperation with the Czech law firm Holubová advokáti, has established an international pro bono platform called #UA.SUPPORT, which links Ukrainian refugees in need of legal help with appropriate lawyers. The platform accepts more than 100 requests for legal aid per week and counts some 150 volunteer lawyers from 25 mostly European countries as members of its team.

“Our project UA.SUPPORT helps with legal issues arising from the situation in Ukraine. In addition to requiring humanitarian help, many Ukrainians have a pressing need for legal aid on topics ranging from immigration to employment, schooling, healthcare, and business development, as well as other areas. With that in mind, we created a non-profit one-stop-shop platform called UA.SUPPORT as a meeting place where volunteer lawyers across the globe can collaborate and link their offers of help with those in need,” said Kateryna Balaban.

Ondřej Dvořák, Chairman of AgiLawyer Society, said, “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Kateryna Balaban as our new Managing Director. Kateryna possesses brilliant communication skills and brings to AgiLawyer an interesting mix of extensive experience in the legal and business areas, as well as IT services.”

Prior to joining AgiLawyer Society, she worked for Holubová advokáti, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, and Marusiak & Partners. Kateryna graduated in Law from the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and from Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius, with a specialization in European and International Business Law. In addition to her native Ukrainian, Kateryna speaks fluent English and Russian.
